Wow am I excited! On Sunday, September 22nd, we had our first Family Activity for our Kids Club ministry. This year, in addition to our Wednesday meetings, we are planning fun activities for the whole family about once a month, which will be held on a weekend. On the 22nd we had an Ice Cream Sundae Party at the church, and there were 36 people in attendance! Nearly every kid who comes to Kids Club, along with their parents, attended! We ate too much ice cream, watched a funny video, and talked about what we’ve learned so far this year at Kids Club. It was a lot of fun!
Our next event will be a Photo Scavenger Hunt Party on Sunday, October 13th, at 5pm. I’m really looking forward to this! About a week before the event, I will email each family a list of things they can photograph to earn points for their team. Over the week their family can take pictures and email or text them to me. Then on the 13th, we will meet to eat pizza, award prizes, and look at the great pictures everyone took. It should be a blast!
On Wednesdays, we are beginning a new unit called “Treasure Hunt”, where we will be learning wisdom from the book of Proverbs. To illustrate this wisdom, we will be learning about the stories of Solomon choosing wisdom over wealth, a sinful woman anointing Jesus’ feet, Rehoboam listening to the wrong friends, and King Josiah finding the Word of God. We will also be learning about a creature called a “fluffy flurbenderf”. (Stay tuned for that!)
